Mixed Oriental Lilies Bulb Sale

Oriental Lilies are amongst the most attractive, colorful and fragrant Lillies around. So if you are looking for Lilly bulbs to plant in the spring and bloom for summer, then Direct Gardening has a good deal for you because they are offering 16 bulbs for just $18.95. Bulbs measure approximately 12-14 cm so they are strong and healthy sure to bloom for you this summer. I purchased some last spring and they bloomed quite nicely in the summer. I compared the bulbs to potted plants at Home Depot and the bulbs were a way better deal. Home Depot had potted Oriental Lilies for like $10 a piece so 16 for $18 is a great bargain. The thing I love about them is that they add tropical beauty to my garden yet are very hardy and can withstand harsh winters down to -25 deg.

Oriental Lily Bulb Care, Facts and Planting

These Lilies are very easy to plant and care for. In fact, they don't need much attention at all. Simply plant them 9"-12" apart during spring in a full sun spot, water regularly and you will have some beautiful flowers with large blooms in no time. Just make sure you don't over water then so you don't end up with rotting bulbs. Planting the bulb sideways usually prevents most rotting problems if you have a lot of rain. If planted in the Spring, you should have some nice plants come mid summer. These bulbs will produce nice flowers for you every summer in zones 8-4. Plants grow fairly tall up to 4' after a few years. So if have never tried these, then this spring is a perfect time to start! To recap, here are the vitals on the Mixed Oriental Lilies:

Zones: 4-9
Sun: Full Sun
Watering: Average
Bloom time: Mid Summer
Bloom Color: Mixed, mostly pinks, reds and whites
Bloom size: 6"-12" Difficulty: Easy

A Word About Direct Gardening

Direct Gardening is an online Nursery with some of the best prices around. I have placed may orders with them and never had any issues. Bulbs, trees, and shrubs are the best to get from them and never have any issues for me. They also have a nice return policy in case your plants don't work out. Just make sure you save your original shipping lable/receipt when you get your order. Ordering tips: 1. Keep your order managable, don't over order so you have plenty of time to plant everything. 2. Do not order too early in the season. Late winter, early spring is the best time to order. 3. Stick to bulbs and woody trees/plants. These are much stronger and can endure the hardships of shipping/storage than soft perennials. 4. Do not be too skeptical of their prices, as long as you keep to woody plants and bulbs you will receive excellent plants. 5. Be patient, if you order a tree/shrub, be aware that they are dormant and bare root so don't assume they are dead. Plant them and give them some time to "wake up". Bulbs don't have this problem, I have many some come up within weeks of planting.
