Finding a good set of speaker stands is always a pain. Finding some that not only work well , look good is and are affordable is next to impossible. Don't expect to find any at Walmart or the like because quite honestly, they have crap. The Dayton SSMB24 24" stands feature a 3 tube design that have a very modern contemporary black design. Not only is the stand very stylish, it is also highly functional. Unlike most stands which either don't have a place to hide your cable, these units allow for easy cable hiding through the rear tube. Another nice feature is that the tube can be filled for added weight and stability. This is easily accomplished filling ziplock bags or the like with sand, rocks, or shot. Another quite nice feature is the neoprene pad on the pedestal that allows for speaker stability. Most other stands either require you to screw your speakers on to it or utilize double sided tape. Finally, the base has adjustable spikes which anchor the stand and speakers solidly to any surface including carpet. Inferior units use rubber feet which do not work well if at all on carpet and usually just tip over.
In conclusion, if you are looking for some solid reliable stands then the Dayton SSMB24 24 inchers are for you. Forget those cheap Walmart stands because they simply do NOT work. The SSMB24s are a high quality peace and come with a very affordable price tag.
